About storydownload
storydownload is a free, independent website for saving and watching Instagram stories from public accounts. Type a username or paste a link, and the account's current stories come up, ready to watch or save as photos and videos. There is no app to install, no account to make and no Instagram login.

Each tool does one job and works the same way in every browser, on a phone or a computer:

How it works
When you ask for a story, this site looks it up on Instagram and passes the photo or video on to you. Photos save as JPG and videos as MP4 with their audio track, at the resolution Instagram serves, with no watermark added. Because the stories load through this site and not through your account, your name is not added to the story's viewer list.
Results are kept for about ten minutes so a page you just opened loads quickly again; no copy of a downloaded file stays with the site. It is free with no daily limit. If you look up a lot within one minute, the page asks you to wait up to a minute before the next one.
Public accounts only
storydownload works with public accounts and nothing else. A private account's stories, posts and highlights stay with the followers its owner approved, and this site does not get around that. When no stories appear, the account is either private or has nothing up right now, and the site cannot tell which.
What we will never do
- Ask for your Instagram username and password, or for any account on this site.
- Claim to show private accounts or stories that are no longer up.
- Add a watermark or a logo to the files you save.
- Pretend to be Instagram. We are not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.
Who it is for
People use storydownload to keep their own stories before they disappear after 24 hours, to save a recipe, a workout or a tutorial a creator shared, to look at a public account's stories without opening the app, and to keep a highlight as one ZIP file. Whatever you save, download only content you own or have permission to use, and respect the people who made it.
