SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS

What personal information do we process? When you visit, use, or navigate our Services, we may process personal information depending on how you interact with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use.

Do we process any sensitive personal information? We do not process sensitive personal information.

Do we collect any information from third parties? We do not collect any information from third parties.

How do we process your information? We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, for security and to prevent abuse, for analytics, to show and measure advertising where it runs, and to comply with law.

What are your choices? Advertising on the Services is provided by Google and follows your consent settings. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and certain related territories, advertising and analytics storage is off unless you consent, and a Global Privacy Control signal switches it off wherever you are. You can also use your browser's cookie controls or Google's Ads Settings, or contact us, and we do not store any of the media you download.

How do we keep your information safe? We have adequate organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect your personal information.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, approximate location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.

The link or username you submit. To fetch the public Instagram content you ask for, we transmit the link or username you enter to a third-party content-retrieval service, which returns the location of the media. That media is then streamed to you through our servers and is not stored by us; we keep no library, index, or copy of it. We keep no database of the links you submit (lookup results are held only in the short-lived cache described in Section 5); if a request fails, we may keep a minimal content identifier (such as a post shortcode) to diagnose the problem, never the media itself. On the results page, however, the link or username is part of the page address, which is also received by our analytics providers and by Google as our advertising provider (see Analytics and Advertising below).

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.

3. COOKIES, ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING & YOUR CHOICES

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) for security, to remember your preferences, to understand how the Services are used, and, where applicable, to show advertising. You can control non-essential cookies as described below.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and Microsoft Clarity for product analytics. Clarity records behavioural interaction data (such as clicks, scrolls, and how pages render) to help us improve usability; it is configured to mask text and input fields, so what you type into a field is not recorded. Page addresses, however, are recorded like any other URL. On the results page, the page address includes the link or username you submitted, so Google, and Microsoft where Clarity runs, receive it along with the address. Microsoft processes this data as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement, and Google as described in the Google Privacy Policy. We do not load Clarity for visitors in the US Pacific region.

Advertising. We display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites, and to measure how those ads perform. Because Google's code runs in your browser, Google also receives your IP address, your browser and device characteristics, and the address of the page you are viewing, which on the results page includes the link or username you submitted. You can turn off personalized advertising from Google at Ads Settings, and you can learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising and consent. Google's advertising code loads for all visitors and follows Google Consent Mode. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the EU outermost regions (Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion, Mayotte, and Saint-Martin), Åland, and Gibraltar, advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization are switched off by default. Google may show you a consent message in those places, and the settings change only if you agree. For any visitor whose browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, the same settings are switched off wherever you are. While they are off, Google does not set or read advertising cookies and does not personalize ads for you, although it may still show ads that are not personalized.

Your choices. We do not currently offer a separate opt-out button of our own. Instead, we honour GPC automatically: when your browser or a browser extension sends it, we switch off advertising storage and ad personalization, we do not load Microsoft Clarity, and we set Google Analytics to deny storage so that it does not set analytics cookies. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, the EU outermost regions, Åland, and Gibraltar, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load under Google Consent Mode with storage denied by default, so they operate there without cookies or identifiers unless you give consent through a consent message. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, manage ad personalization in Google's Ads Settings, and email us at info@instagram-story-download.net with any other request.

Bot protection. To keep this free Service available and to stop automated abuse, download requests are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile runs a background check that may process your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and interaction signals to tell humans from bots, and may store a short-lived token. This processing is strictly necessary for security and is carried out by Cloudflare as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Media delivery. Media you download is delivered through a Cloudflare service on our behalf, so Cloudflare processes your IP address and the media request in order to serve the file, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy linked above.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the Services. Most handle data only to provide their function to us; Google, as our advertising provider, also handles it as described in its own privacy policy. All of them may process it in the United States and other countries:

  • Vercel: hosting and content delivery; generates standard server logs (IP address, request metadata) for security and operation.
  • A third-party content-retrieval API: receives the link or username you submit in order to return the location of the public Instagram media you requested.
  • Cloudflare: bot protection (Turnstile) and delivery of the media you download, as described above.
  • Google: analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense). For advertising it may use cookies and device identifiers to select and measure ads. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft: Clarity product analytics.
  • Sentry: error monitoring. When something fails, Sentry records technical diagnostics such as your browser, operating system, and the error details. We have configured Sentry not to store IP addresses.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, using the Services involves transferring your information to countries (including the United States) that may not provide the same level of data protection; where required, this is done under appropriate safeguards.

Links to other websites. Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, including Instagram and the sites of advertisers, that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of those websites, and this Privacy Notice does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

The link or username you submit is used to fetch the result you asked for. The result of that lookup is cached server-side for about ten minutes, keyed by what you submitted, so that a repeat request or a page reload is fast. The cache holds the locations of the media on Instagram's servers and accompanying details (such as the media type and, for a profile, the username and profile picture location), not the media files themselves. After that window the cached result expires. Apart from this cache and the minimal diagnostic identifier described in Section 1, we keep no database of the links or usernames you submit. The page address on the results page, which includes the link or username, is a separate matter, described in Sections 1 and 3.

For other information, we will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

6. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

7. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). By using the Services, you represent that you are at least that age, or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to their use of the Services. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable age, we will delete it.

8. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

EEA, UK & Switzerland (GDPR). Our legal bases for processing are: our legitimate interests in keeping the Services secure, functional, and free from abuse (including bot protection and error monitoring) and in understanding how the Services are used through analytics that, in these regions, run without cookies or identifiers unless you consent; your consent, where you give it through a consent message, for advertising and analytics storage and for ad personalization; and compliance with law. Advertising storage and ad personalization are off by default for visitors in these regions. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, and you have the right to object to processing at any time by emailing us at info@instagram-story-download.net; if your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC), we also do not load Microsoft Clarity for you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California and other US states. You have the right to know what personal information we process, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. The advertising on the Services may use cookies and device identifiers, which some state laws treat as a “sale” or “sharing.” We do not currently show a separate opt-out button; you can opt out by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honour automatically by switching off advertising storage and ad personalization for you.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@instagram-story-download.net. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK & GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL

Because there is still no finalized standard for the older “Do-Not-Track” (DNT) browser signal, we do not respond to DNT. We do, however, honour the newer Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: when your browser or a browser extension sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out. We switch off advertising storage and ad personalization, we do not load Microsoft Clarity, and Google Analytics runs with storage denied, so it does not set analytics cookies.

10. HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?

If you have questions or comments about this notice, you may email us at info@instagram-story-download.net.

11. HOW CAN YOU REVIEW, UPDATE, OR DELETE THE DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?

Based on the applicable laws of your country, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, change that information, or delete it. To request to review, update, or delete your personal information, please submit a request to info@instagram-story-download.net.
